Marathon and half marathon results
The Georgia marathon has many different categories. There are female and male categories in which are broken up into different age ranges. In recent years both men and women have competed for the top title of the Georgia marathon and half marathon winners.
In 2009 a man by the name of James Boitt pulled in the number one spot of the Georgia marathon. A close overall second was a man by the name of Kassahum Kabiso. In fact in 2009 a woman did not place in the overall ranking for the Georgia marathon until it cam down to 9th place. In 9th place was Serkalem Abrha. The half marathon gave different results. Patrick Cheruiyot brought home the win for the half marathon in 2009. Once again a female did not place in the overall rankings until 9th place. In 9th place was Janet Cherobon.
In 2010 a male once again took home the win, his name was Jynocel Basweti out of New Mexico. In second place was Richard Chelimo out of Ohio. A female did not break into the overall top standings until Tatiana Mironova who came in 14th place. For the half marathon Geoffrey Kiprotich came in first place.
