Winning Artist Adds Personal “Chop” to Limited Edition Print

Event date: Thursday, February 08, 2007, from 6:54 PM to 6:54 PM

Winning Artist Adds Personal “Chop” to ING Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon Limited Edition Print

Distinctive Seal Adds to Authentication of the Inaugural Design

(ATLANTA, Feb. 5, 2007) –Na Lee Kim, the winning artist who designed the ING Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon Limited Edition Print, will add her personal “chop” to each of the 500 prints. A native of South Korea, Kim will use her family’s personal seal with Korean Hanja characters, and a special ink designed to last for hundreds of years, to authenticate each print. Each Limited Edition Print, which incorporates the skyline of Atlanta, dogwood blossoms and a variety of runners, will be hand numbered, signed and sealed by Kim.

According to Roderick Hardy, of Hardy/Halpern Inc, Appraisers of Personal Property in Atlanta, “The use of the artist’s ‘chop’ is very acceptable; it will help to authenticate the prints.” Only 500 of the Limited Edition Prints are available; they retail at a cost of $225 for framed and $70 for unframed. They are available exclusively at the “Store” section of the ING Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon Web site: www.inggeorgiammarathon.com.

In addition, every purchase of a Limited Edition Print will include an artist card created and produced by Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD). The card features a picture of Kim, a fourth-year student at SCAD, her background, and her inspiration for the winning design. It also includes information about the design contest, SCAD and PSI Promotional Solutions, Inc (PSI) an official race sponsor.

About the ING Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon Design Contest

The unique design contest was held on November 11, 2006 on SCAD’s Atlanta campus. The competing graphic design and/or advertising students had 13 hours and one minute (simulating 13.1 miles of the half marathon) to create their own original designs. They could work alone or in teams. At the conclusion of the contest each of the 39 student crossed the “finish line,” submitted an individual entry, and received a Design Contest Medal. A judge’s panel, consisting of representatives from ING Americas, the race’s title sponsor, SCAD, and race staff, selected the eight finalists and two winning designs. PSI sponsored the design contest in partnership with SCAD.

The winning and runner-up design were announced and unveiled to the media on Jan. 19, 2007. Kim received a $2,500 SCAD scholarship for her winning design. The runner-up design, which will be a souvenir poster given to each of the 15,0000 race participants, was designed by Scott Zettergren of Atlanta, Ga., a second-year graduate student. Zettergren received a $500 SCAD scholarship. PSI awarded both scholarships.
